The 1966 lounge outdoor chair is formed of a powder-coated aluminium frame and woven polyester mesh seat. Designed by Richard Schultz, the 1966 series is considered to be the first example of modern outdoor furniture.///Description
Richard Schultz designed the 1966 Collection at the request of Florence Knoll who, having retired to Florida, desired outdoor furniture that could withstand the corrosive ocean breeze. His timeless 1966 chair design, which omitted the extraneous curves typical to garden chairs of the time, continues to be celebrated by enthusiasts of modern design.
